Irrespective of the vaccination status, the presentation of a negative PCR test is required for entry from abroad. This is usually requested and collected by the airline upon departure. We
therefore recommend that you carry this document in duplicate. The test must not be older than 72 hours at the time of entry. Furthermore, the entry form ("Formulário de registo de viagem") must be completed online 72 hours prior to entry and be presentable upon entry. In practice,
online registrations completed immediately before departure have also been recognised.
Immediately after entry, another COVID-19 rapid test is obligatory. If the test result is positive, quarantine is carried out. Fully vaccinated persons can move freely in the country if the test result is negative. For the unvaccinated, quarantine with the possibility of free testing may be ordered according to Angolan law, regardless of the test result.
Asymptomatic cases may remain at home for isolation and do not have to go to a government/medical facility.
A negative PCR test is required for exit from Angola if requested by the carrier, transit country or country of destination. Please check the requirements of your airline or destination country before departure. We will be happy to organise a PCR test for you, if should you require one. The test must be taken no more than 72 hours before departure. For Angolan nationals who have not been vaccinated, the time limit is reduced to 48 hours. This also applies to dual nationals.
International and national air traffic has resumed. The land borders are open.
For travel between provinces, proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test is required, which must not be older than 48 hours.
In indoor areas accessible to the public, masks are compulsory and distance rules must be observed.
Ensure compliance with AHA regulations and additionally follow the advice of local authorities. Fines may be imposed for breaches of hygiene regulations.
In case of COVID-19 symptoms or contact with infected persons, contact the Corona hotline 111.
